The blog from my friend Jan about dandelions brought back some fond memories of the same. We were on a short vacation from Saudi Arabia to Greece where we had just wonderful food. The most scrumptious were cooked greens. Being raised in rural Pennsylvania we recognized them right away, dandelions. We figured we could take some seed back with us and grow them in our small backyard garden. What fun we had trying to find a seed shop and then telling the clerk what we wanted. Good thing they had a large display of seeds. They grew very well in our sandy soil, the only trouble was no bacon to flavor them.
I am smiling, just thinking of someone coming in to BUY dandelions. Thanks, Pam! :-)
