This is a picture of me as a little girl. The others are my family. A picture of my Mother, my sister Mercedes, brothers Jack an Bud, and the little one is me.  The year after this picture was taken my dad died , pretty tough for a widow in 1937. She came from tough stock and raised all four kids without any of the help persons get from the government today.
The Erickson s are from my mothers side.  The grandmother and grandfather came from Sweden sometime in the 1900's.    They lived on the Finish border and he was about to be drafted into the Finish army so he skipped.  They settled in a little coal mining town, Sugar Run, in central Pennsylvania. Grandpa Ericson always spoke of how proud he was to receive his citizenship.   Both were very handy and clever.  John mended shoes and gave haircuts on Saturday.  He even played the a fiddle that he made from a cigar box.  She had a large loom in an outside building where she made rugs.  Ladies would bring old clothes and Annalise turned them into great rag rugs.   When he died at 99 he was the oldest voting Democrat in the county.

  4. I love your old pictures! Especially the bigger one of you as a little girl. Sweet face and great bangs! I wore my hair like that most of my childhood, but I wasn't as cute as you were. Cheers!
