Well the wonderful holiday is over. Bob, Lisa, Howard and I ha spent it up in Pennsylvania viewing the fabulous display of flowers and trees at Longwood Gardens. They sure do put on a show. We also checked out Mr DuPont s house. That must be just a gorgeous garden in spring. My family all decided we must plan a trip for April. We also stopped at Andrew Wyeth s museum, mostly to look at the woodland creatures. Of course we enjoyed the art gallery, too. So much so I bought a how-to-book on colored pencil drawings. Bob gave me a kindle for Christmas, I just think that is great. Finished one book and now I am reading a Agatha Christie mystery.
Wishing all my blogging friends a happy and prosperous new year.
Sounds like it was a great holiday. Love to visit interesting places. Happy New Year to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect holiday! I'm so glad it was great, and I hope you post about your feelings about the Kindle once you've used it a while.
ReplyDeleteOo, is Longwood the place where they have the fountains going off to Stars and Stripes Forever? (I know, an odd thing to love about such a beautiful place, but that music always brings me to tears.)
ReplyDeleteWish you a very happy and peaceful New Year! It is great to know that you are enjoying the holidays doing your favorite things!
ReplyDeleteI've seen lots of Kindles as gifts. Sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too! Sounds as though you had a wonderful holiday with your family!

The e readers are so handy, but I agree they take a little getting used to. I still like to hold a book, but I'd guess as a quilter, you enjoy the tactile feel of a page and book. It'll be interesting to see what you think. Also....I so enjoy the beauty of your quilts.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased you went to Longwood gardens. Our US family live nearby and when ever we come over we make a point to visit the gardens. It changes with the seasons and is great to visit at any time. My favourite is Christmas with all the beautiful lights and decorations.
