I just happened to mention I would like some figs and my daughter told her dentist and walla, she is bringing a grocery bag of them on Sunday. A person can only make so much fig jam and fig newtons are out of the question what with me being a dedicated weight watcher. I am planning to get my goal pin sometime during the holidays.
I signed up with a block swapping group yesterday. Sounds like a good group and fun. Much better than the siggy swaps. That just got overwhelming. Shoe boxes full of siggy patches now just taking up shelf space. Oh well, something will come up. And of course there was that other swap that was a complete bust...never heard from the gal I sent the items to only that she was working on it. I gave up on her and have been real shy about swaps but here I go again. Have a nice week end and remember it was the unions who gave us Labor Day.
Just wanted to stop by and THANK YOU for leaving a comment on my Blog. It was appreciated.
ReplyDeleteSince Virginia is not really very far from me, I have made a few trips to the Mountain's of the Blue Ridge in the past. The Blue Ridge always has something to offer those who appreciate her beauty. I've traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway a number of times, starting at Front Royal. One of these day's I'm going to get there in the Fall when Nature puts on a show for the last time.
Here in PA, the State has allot to offer when you know where to go. Like Virginia, PA has so much History to see, if you enjoy History like I do. I have been going down into Lancaster County or Amish Country as I call it because there too, is much to observe and photograph.
Be Well and your right. The Unions of this Country did give us Labor Day.

Hi Pamela, have a wonderful swap! I love figs! it's wonderful that you are enjoying a bounty from your fig tree :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish you better luck with your swaps this time. It is very disappointing when a participant doesn't follow through.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your figs. I have grown them at several of the places we have lived but have never been able to pick any. At the first property it was the fruit bats that beat us to them, then at the next house it was the possums.
In the end I just accepted that I was providing for the wildlife.
Enjoy your holiday weekend.
